# Set Up and Use Your Cricut EasyPress: Complete Guide

The Cricut EasyPress delivers professional heat transfer results at home. Unlike a household iron, it provides consistent, even heat across the entire pressing surface — eliminating the hot spots and uneven pressure that cause peeling designs and wasted materials.

## EasyPress Models at a Glance

Cricut offers several EasyPress models to fit every project size and workflow:

* **EasyPress Mini LT** — Compact handheld press ideal for small accessories like hats, shoes, socks, and stuffed animals.
* **EasyPress 2** — Available in 6×7", 9×9", and 12×10" sizes. Great for everyday iron-on projects on garments and tote bags.
* **EasyPress 3** — Same size options as the EasyPress 2, with an upgraded digital temperature display, precise degree-by-degree control, and auto-shutoff.
* **EasyPress SE** — A streamlined version designed for everyday use with simplified controls.

## Setup and First Use

    Place your EasyPress on the included EasyPress mat or another hard, heat-resistant surface. A firm, stable base ensures even pressure during pressing.

      If you don't have an EasyPress mat yet, a tightly folded towel on a hard table works as a temporary substitute. The mat's insulating layer improves heat transfer and protects your work surface.

  <Step title="Plug In and Power On">
    Connect the power cord and press the power button. The indicator light (EasyPress 2/Mini LT) or digital display (EasyPress 3) will turn on.

    Open a browser and go to [heat.cricut.com](https://heat.cricut.com). Enter your iron-on material type and your base material (e.g., cotton, polyester, canvas) to get the exact recommended temperature and pressing time.

  <Step title="Set the Temperature and Wait for Preheat">
    Dial in the temperature from the Heat Guide. The indicator light will change color — or the display will show a checkmark — once the press reaches the target temperature and is ready to use.

      The **EasyPress 3** features a built-in countdown timer. Set the press time directly on the device and it will beep when the session is complete — no separate timer needed.

  <Step title="Pre-Press Your Garment">
    Press your blank garment for about 5 seconds without any design on it. This removes moisture and smooths out wrinkles, creating a clean, flat surface for the iron-on to adhere to.

  <Step title="Position Your Iron-On Design">
    Place your cut iron-on design on the garment with the **shiny liner side facing up** and the design facing down against the fabric. Arrange it exactly where you want the final image to appear.

      Always **mirror your iron-on design** in Cricut Design Space before cutting. Iron-on applies face-down, so a non-mirrored design will appear reversed on the finished project.

## Hot Peel vs. Cold Peel

The correct peel method depends on your iron-on material. Peeling at the wrong time can cause designs to lift or not adhere properly.
